Editing and proofreading
The aim of editing and proofreading is to detect and correct orthographic, grammatical and punctuation errors. Furthermore, it also includes a semantic and a style correction that contributes to a homogeneity of the document in terms of coherence, cohesion, and contextual fitness.
The task of writing texts is based on presenting and communicating a written message in a clear, concise, and structured way. To do so, aspects such as the content, the target audience, the approximate extension of the document, the typology of the text and the tone are considered.
Translating a document does not only entail the translating process itself, but also an adaptation of the message to the culture and to the specific conventions of the target language. At the same time, it also reflects a deep knowledge and an adequate usage of the terminology of the field in question.
The transcription of a document involves the conversion of an audio or video file into a written text. In the process of transcription, features such as the words and pauses of the discourse are taken into consideration, as well as other contextual aspects such as non-linguistic sounds, possible discursive errors and noise.
The objective of language coaching is the preparation for specific milestones. In other to reach those, a training programme is established so as to encourage the development of both linguistic and communication skills.
